Midwives of Grande Prairie
For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with pregnancy, birth, and the innate power women have. In 2005 I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and shortly after began working for health charities as an educator. While I enjoyed being able to help people, I knew I still needed to discover my life’s work. My fascination with birth led me to become a certified birth doula in May 2010. As a doula I had the honor of supporting many families through their birth experience with a goal of helping my clients feel empowered. My doula experience also confirmed that I wanted to make a deeper commitment to midwifery. In 2011 I was accepted into the midwifery program at Bastyr University in Seattle. Born and raised in Calgary, I was pleased to be able to complete the practicum portion of my training at home and graduated with a Master’s of Science in Midwifery June 2014. I look forward to serving families for many years to come.
