Pregnancy and birth have always pulled at my heart in inexplicable ways. There is something so sacred and monumental about the birth of a new little life, and it is immensely gratifying to care for a family through this journey. I can surely say that Midwifery has been a calling for me.

I was born and raised on the sunny coast of California, but I am lucky to call Calgary home now. I’ve fallen in love with the rolling green prairies and snow-capped Rockies. More importantly, many years back, I fell in love with a Calgarian, my husband and extraordinary life partner Cory. We moved here to start our family, and feel very grateful to be raising our young boys, Aulden (born 2012) and Eli (born 2014), surrounded by extended family here in this city.

I began my career in reproductive health working in research and program planning, having completed a Masters in Public Health at UC Berkeley, specializing in Maternal and Child Health. I was passionate about evidence based practice and using research and public health programming to advance the health of mothers and children. But I craved less computer time, and more time with the women and families themselves. In this pursuit, I worked as a doula for a while, gaining experience with labour and birth, and taking pre-requisite courses to pave the way for Midwifery training.

In 2011, I completed my training at Yale University, and graduated as a Certified Nurse-Midwife with a Masters in Nursing. While waiting for my husband to finish his PhD, I Iived and worked in Providence, Rhode Island.

Beyond my passion for Midwifery, I also enjoy travelling, cooking, date nights, and watching my kiddos grow and learn new things.

I am thrilled to be a part of the community of midwives here at Birth Partnership, and I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones as you grow your family.
