Hello All

My name is Elise and I am a French Midwife from France. I began my training in France from 1996 to 2000 when I obtained my bachelor degree in midwifery and have been practising in France for the past 11 years.

In 2001, my husband, I and our first child came to Calgary for the first time. We stayed for a year for his post doctorate studies and returned to France but we knew that we'd come back because we fell in love with Calgary and its people. We came back eventually in 2006, with our second child, for another year and again in 2008 for 2 more years. We had the joy of having our third baby in 2009, in Calgary.

Year after year, I learned more about the model of midwifery practice in Canada, while improving my English. In 2010, we realized that Calgary was the place where we'd like to raise our children. I became aware of the existence of a fairly new program called MMBP and applied. MMBP is a project that helps internationally educated midwives meet the requirements to practice in Canada. I got accepted in the MMBP program and started the distance learning classes in January.

After 11 years of midwifery in my country where I've practiced as an employed midwife in hospital, I'm ready and happy to start a new career as a primary caregiver and practice in different settings. I look forward in accompanying you during your journey in pregnancy and birth. I hope you'll allow me to be a part of the most precious moment of your lives.
